Kumo

Designed by Ameline Vandecasteele for PR Design Studio, the Kumo Sofa takes its name from the Japanese word for “cloud”. Its soft, billowing form and organic, irregular silhouette create a sense of visual lightness while offering deep, enveloping comfort. Rather than following a rigid geometry, Kumo is designed to feel natural and intuitive within a space, adapting easily to both intimate settings and larger, more open interiors.

Its modular construction allows Kumo to move between relaxed lounge arrangements and larger social compositions, with left and right configurations available across the relevant seating and chaise longue elements.

Available configurations:

• Pouf module
• Back module
• 2 Seater left and right arm modules
• 3 Seater left and right arm modules
• Chaise Longue left and right modules 

Comfort:

• Seat depth: 65 cm
• Seat height: 42 cm

The seat and back frames are made from solid beech wood. The back is built with cold foam and wadding, while the seat combines zig-zag springs, felt, cold foam and wadding. A thin layer of down sits beneath the upholstery, contributing to Kumo’s soft and relaxed character. Individual modules are joined using connecting metal brackets.

Cushions:

• No additional cushions are included with the sofa.

Different upholstery choices may naturally create slightly different expressions, and some fabrics may develop light wrinkling around the curved seat.
